Super Wild Card Weekend Recap

These games were a great way to kick off the playoffs and really set the tone for what we are going to see these next couple weeks. With Buffalo’s perfect game, Dallas’ disastrous ending and the Bengal’s winning their first playoff game in 31 years, this weekend was very exciting and these are just some of the crazy moments that went down.

Raiders @ Bengals

This was all kicked off with the Bengals winning over the Raiders, getting a playoff win for the first time in 31 years. The game got real close, in the 4th and came down to the last second when Derek Carr threw a pick in the red zone to seal the game. Raiders did what they did all year, didn’t look great, but somehow hung around, and Burrows and Chase did just enough.

Patriots @ Bills

The final game on Saturday, my personal favourite game, was an absolute beatdown. The Bills beat the Patriots 47-17 and had an astonishing perfect game with 0 punts, 0 field goal attempts and 0 turnovers. They had 7 drives (excluding kneel downs at the end) and 7 touchdowns. I mean Josh Allen literally had more touchdowns than incompletions. Like how does that happen, especially against the Pats and Belichick. I guess that’s what 20 years of built up anger does to you. This game really turned when Hyde picked off Jones in the endzone and the Bills didn’t look back from there.

Eagles @ Bucs

The Eagles and the Bucs faced off in the first game on Sunday and let’s just say it wasn’t as eventful as the other ones. It went exactly as planned, the Bucs crushing the Eagles playoff hopes and continuing their own hope for back to back Super Bowls. I have a feeling they could be stopped next week in the Divisional round, though. I might just be saying that because of the years of torment Tom Brady put us Bills fans through, but Aaron Donald could definitely wreck the game if he can get to Brady. :)

49ers @ Cowboys

The second game on Sunday was very, very dramatic and very, very predictable. This game was of course the San Francisco - Dallas game. It started off with the 49ers looking like they were going to knock Dallas out of the playoffs but then Dallas came up from behind and actually had a shot to win the game. Dallas, of course, did not win the game and with 14 seconds left, no timeouts and down by a touchdown they chose to do a QB draw and time expired on them. Sorry, but it was the dumbest ending to a game I have ever seen. I guess it was just Dallas being Dallas. No wonder they have only 3 Playoff wins in the last 25 years.

Steelers @ Chiefs

The third and final game on Sunday was the Steelers - Chiefs game. It looked promising for the Steelers at first with their early 7-0 lead, but that did not last long. Patrick Mahomes, after having a rough start to the game, decided to come out and destroy the Steelers lead. They scored 35 consecutive points and Ben and the Steelers just couldn’t keep up. It was mainly a one sided game but Ben was able to put up a couple more touchdowns to close out his career. Good luck Ben in whatever you do next.

Cardinals @ Rams

The last game of Super Wild Card Weekend was not what anyone was expecting. I expected this game to be close but the Cardinals just did not show up to this game. I really don’t know what happened to that undefeated team but somewhere along the way, we lost them. They were absolutely disastrous and the Rams just took advantage of all the mistakes that were made…especially that attempted ‘hook shot’ from Murray in his endzone…I mean what was that??? With the 34-11 win over the Cardinals, Matthew Stafford got his first ever playoff win and we will have to see if he can get another versus Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Looking forward to all the games this weekend, as all of the matchups are great…but of course I am most looking forward to the rematch between the Bills and Chiefs…that will be must watch TV! See you next week and of course... Go Bills!
