Divisional Round Recap

Rams @ Packers

Packers: 32, Rams: 18

This game went as expected with Aaron Rodgers leading the Packers to a win. The Rams did not go down without a fight, but in the end, the number 1 offence bested the number 1 defence. We will have to see how Rodgers does next week as he is going to his 3rd straight NFC Championship.

Ravens @ Bills

Bills: 17, Ravens: 3

Well, this game was a very slow one. Both teams were stopped a lot by the defences but the Bills came out on top and were able to hold off Lamar. Though in the second half, it was anyone’s game until Taron Johnson’s 101-yard pick 6, that was a definite deciding factor and it was a ”franchise-alternating play” as QB Josh Allen put it. After that pick 6, Lamar was knocked down in the end zone and was taken off the field with a concussion, the Bills then held off the Ravens from scoring anything in the fourth quarter which resulted in a Bills victory. Overall the Bills defensive gameplan was fantastic and ended up being the difference in the game.

Browns @ Chiefs

Chiefs: 22, Browns: 17

This game went as expected and was pretty interesting, though the Browns could have upset the Chiefs who had to turn to Henne at QB. It got real close for a second when Mahomes was hurt but in the end, Henne and the Chiefs won this game after an insanely risky play call on a 4th down, not even past midfield. I mean, throwing it on 4th down to close the game out, who does that.

Buccaneers @ Saints

Bucs: 30, Saints: 20

Well, this was possibly Drew Brees' last game and it was sad to see them lose. They were playing a great game and were up until a fumble ended up in a huge momentum shift for the Bucs. Brees then threw a couple of interceptions and the Bucs scored off those turnovers. The Saints tried to launch a late comeback, but it came up short. It was sad to see it go down like this when this could be Brees' last game, but the Bucs got the win and are advancing to their first NFC Championship since 2002.

That's the end of my Divisional round recap. Can't wait to see these games next week. These matchups are perfect. Rodgers and Brady, Goat vs Goat, for the NFC, and then Mahomes and Allen, the two future star QBs, for the AFC. This is probably how it was supposed to turn out and I think it's safe to say these games will be interesting.
